The short answer

For a first racket, the Wilson Optix V1 is the best value. For an improver, the Head Coello Vibe gets you a teardrop under €100, and the Tecnifibre Wall Master 365 brings a full carbon face. Last year's version of a mid-range racket is often the best deal of all.

Getting the most for under €100

  • Buy last year's model. Rackets change little year to year, and shops discount the old version heavily when the new one arrives.
  • Prioritise shape and feel over materials. A round, soft racket you control beats a carbon racket you can't.
  • Compare two shops. Prices on the same racket can differ by 20% or more.

Questions

Is a cheap padel racket worth it?

Yes, for beginners and casual players. Budget rackets from established brands are durable and forgiving; you're mostly giving up power and premium materials.

How long does a budget racket last?

With weekly play, often a season or two before the core softens.
