Padel or clay-court shoes with a herringbone sole. Running shoes slip on sand-filled turf and are the most common cause of twisted ankles.
A fresh overgrip every few weeks stops the racket slipping in your hand. Cheap, and the easiest upgrade there is.
A racket bag with a thermal pocket protects the racket from heat in the car. A backpack is enough for one racket and shoes.
